"One Day at a Time" Sponsor
In August 2005, Sara Ultz, daughter to the State FOP Sec/Treasurer Ron Ultz, had a medical emergency which caused her to lose her small intestines.  Since then, she has not been able to work and has had to depend on friends and family.  On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, Sara underwent 14-hours, 6-organ transplant surgery.  Her family is staying with her down there.  They are able to stay at The Transplant House.  The Transplant House provides efficiency type apartments to families and patients of transplants.  The cost to stay there is $50 per day.
When Sara is able to be released from the hospital, she will have to move into The Transplant House.  She will have to live there until she is formally released to return home by her doctor.  The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police is hoping to keep a family member with her until her return home.  However, in order to do that, we will need the help of our members.  We know that FOP folks take care of their own, have hearts of gold, and are very generous.  We have set up a sponsorship program for the Ultz Family.  If you would like to sponsor them, “One Day At A Time” for $50, please call or email alstfop@aol.com the state lodge at 1-800-844-2940 to make arrangements.
